Happiness is the euphoric feeling that sweeps over your body in moments of joy. Your happiness can come from many places, yourself, others or experiences. It is important to hold onto happiness and try your very best to spread it to as many people as possible, the easy part is that happiness is very contagious and starts with a smile. However, some days it is easier to be happier than other days. For the times when we struggle to find joy in our lives, here are 10 ways to be happier:
Turn up the music and have a jam out session.
Music speaks to the soul and resonates deep inside of us . It helps bring about every and any emotion known to human kind. When you are feeling down and need a pick me up, turn on and tune in to some uplifting music it is a guaranteed way to put you in a better mood.
Create a “Happy Me’ folder
A ‘happy me’ folder should contain images, quotes and self motivating feedback for your reference. This positive reinforcement will help make you happier with inspirational quotes geared towards you being the best version of you. Keep this folder in close reach when ever you’re feeling down and need a pick me up, it will remind you of the significance of life and why you should be happy just to be breathing.
Have quiet time
It is easy to get lost in the melee of life and allow stress to run its course through your life. This everyday stress overtime can mount up and cause your mood to shift from happy to depressed. Try finding a quiet corner and have a quiet moment to yourself daily. Go to your favorite soothing playlist and listen to some calming sounds and allow your mind to unwind to get to a better place.
Say yes to new and exciting challenges. Say yes to going for a night out with friends, say yes to making new moves in your life. Nothing changes your mood faster than performing a positive action. Yes is a word of affirmation, you will be allowing positivity into your life when you say yes and it will yield you great happiness.
Cut yourself some slack
Realize how far you have come from where ever you started. Take an assessment of your achievements and give yourself a pat on the back. Do not beat yourself up if you are not where you wanted to be and remind yourself that life is a journey, the destination is wonderful but getting there can be just as fun and exciting. Give yourself time to achieve your goals and cut yourself from slack.
What is life?
Remember that everyone on the face of this earth is just trying to do their best with what they have. Do not be to hasty with yourself and take time to figure out your next move and where you are headed in life. You will get a happier feeling when things go as planned but there is great joy to be had in spontaneity.
Resolve issues before bed
Let go of negativity as soon as it comes your way, holding onto feelings of resentment, anger or leaving things unsaid will only make you over think. Do not allow yourself to go to bed with unresolved issues of the day; address the issue as it arises. Ensure that this issue is worth addressing before you go off on someone for something that was not very important.
Walk it out
Give your body and mind a boost of endorphin and feel good hormones by exercising. If you have no time to exercise, then take the stairs instead of the elevator, take a walk instead of taking your car. Give your body love so it loves you back.
Have a meaningful conversation
Small talk is okay, but try having an in depth conversation with someone, discuss ideas, events and be thoughtful. Having an in depth conversation with someone can boost your happiness. Detailed, thoughtful conversations resonate deeply inside of you and allows for a wide range of different emotions to be unearthed.
Do not allow yourself to be a shrewd, if something is funny laugh. Laugh heartily like it is the last laugh of your life, cry if you need to. Be in the moment and enjoy the company of the people around you, engage in hearty conversation and laugh yourself to happiness.
